The mobile python challenge is an initiative started by the Tempelaar Team at Northwestern University. The long-term goal of the initiative is to encourage students from underserved communities to explore fields related to programming by exposing them at the high school level to the excitement of programming. It does so through a sequence of activities that more closely resembles a game than a traditional programming course. To reduce the financial barrier to entry, the challenge is designed to be completed on a smartphone instead of a computer.
